Maps and churros

This will be a short posting as coffee #2 is sitting in the French press and I have to get to work.

I added this neat little feature to my blog, from who's amung us, a map showing who is visiting (and hopefully reading!) my blog (see the right-hand column). Yesterday I had visitors from the US, Canada, England, Ireland, and Australia. Isn't that neat? Even JF (hubby) thought it was cool.

I cannot remember whose blog I first saw this in yesterday so I'm sorry I can't credit that person for this super find! Thanks, whoever you are :)

Yummmmmm...
Oh, and last night my sister took me out for a lovely birthday dinnner at this fabulous tapas place, Tapeo, here in Montreal. I totally forgot I had my camera with me, since we were yakking and enjoying the tortilla and paella, but I did remember before we scarfed down the last churros. When we asked what there was for dessert, the waiter chuckled when we both squealed at the "churros" response.

Eating these brought us back to our childhood - and no, we don't have any Spanish ancestors. But we did have Spanish friends a few houses over. Mrs. Perez would often make churros for breakfast, and when we stopped to pick up her daughter, Esther, for the walk to school, she would say there was plenty of time to make it to school, so we HAD to go in for some churros and hot chocolate. Not much convincing was ever needed ☺

Amazing what memories are brought back by tastes and smells...

Ha, now you have one visitor from Finland as well! :D

The who's among us map seems fun. I might add it, too.

What child could resist fried dough with cinnamon sugar washed down with chocolate?
